Sier Chocoteam was founded in 1948 by Mr P.T. Sier and initially operated under the ‘De Monnik’ name.
Various chocolate and chocolate related products were produced in a former milk factory in the old centre of Edam. It didn’t take long for the company to start specialising in the production of Chococups (back then referred to as ‘IJscola’). These were initially exclusively available in white and brown. The company developed its own recipes during this period, which are still being used today.
Automation activities were initiated after C.J.P. Sier joined the company, the 2nd generation, and a careful look across the borders was planned.
The company has been at its current location at the Ambachtstraat in Edam since 1972. This production location offered the possibility of continuing the automation activities and to develop many new combinations of flavours and packaging. The location has now twice been extended. The assortment is constantly adapted to suit our customers’ exact requirements and to satisfy market demands. This ensures the company is always up to date and ready for the future.

The company has been managed by J. Sier, the 3rd generation, since 2005. There has been an incredibly low turnover of staff in all these years, which has resulted in the build up of a great deal of expertise and experience. This, combined with a modern and advanced fleet of machinery, has resulted in consistent quality.
The team is large enough to be able to cope with orders of any size and small enough to maintain the very pleasant personal contact, flexibility and short communication lines.
